From what I can tell the 192.168.0.1 address is mostly bogus. 1 Your AT&T modem/router is required for your internet connection to work. When it connects to the network it finds one of two different DNS/Gateway values - 192.168.1.254 (works) or 192.168.0.1 (does not work). The problem occurs when reconmecting to the network (that is why I do not often run into the problem).
If the NETGEAR router no internet problem occurs, you can reboot the router in use. Restart your computer and check if the router can connect to the internet. I have determined the underlying reason, though I do not know of any appropriate fix. Turn off the WiFi option of your router and directly connect it to your computer with an Ethernet cable. This took a while, but I finally had the issue occur again. Maybe I'll see if I can directly access the Gateway via my phone next time instead of using the app which requires an external internet connection. That would not explain why some sites work, though. Maybe there is something more to it, though. I assumed this was due to it being a junky old table. We recently tried to add another Android device (tablet), and it was constantly getting the wrong network information altogether with DHCP - instead for finding Gateway/DNS as 192.168.1.254 it was finding 192.168.0.1.
